Sinceramente yo no te recomendria ningún boido que se haga de más de tres metros, personalmente tengo buena experiencia con Morelia spilotes (tanto variegata como cheyni), pero creo que no vale la pena, me parece mucho más recomendable tener colubridos que generalmente alcanzan menores tamaños y ademas tienen una reproducción más sencilla, por lo que suelen dar más alegrias; yo todavia (aunque, espero conseguirlo pronto, no he conseguido reproducir boidos aunque hay especies como Pyton molurus bitattus que no son dificiles). Si pese atodo te decides por un boido lo que si te recomiendo es que sea un animal de cautividad, aunque salga un poco más cara te dara menos disgustos.
