Dilin is one of my three Central American Ornate wood turtles.I had him and the others in an outside pen and somehow Dilin escaped.Since I live in a swampy and woody area I knew Dilin would be hard to find but I searched everyday for a week and then over the period of a month slowly gave up.I was depressed and worried for him beczuse it was starting to get really cold at night and hes a tropical turtle.About four months went by and we had already had a few frosts overnight so

i assumed Dilin wasn't going to make it.But one Wednesday afternoon after school on October 10th I was in my room and My mom ran in and said "you won't believe what just happened"And instantly I knew exactly what she Meant and I jumped out of my bed like a rocket."Dilin" i yelled," your back"as I grabbed him out of my brothers hands and hugged him.He was in great condition. My brother had found him sunning himself in the woods by the sidewalk right behind my house.I can say he probably never left the swamp. He had lost a few ounces but had a huge appetite and vigorous attitude to my other turtles. He was seperated from the others for a few weeks and showed no signs of parasites or illness and I think he ate grasses and weeds those few months.Even now he has a huge appetite and protects his food from the others wich he hasnt done before. He has gained back weight.Everyday I thank God for bringing my baby back to me and how lucky he is too be in such perfect health. The day I got dilin back was the happiest day of my life!Dilin was lost from June 27-October10th
