This forum IS a good idea. The SF Bay Area Reptile ass'n (BAARS) newsletter which I publish has included a "lost reptile" story foe most of this year. They are not always snakes- box turtles are pretty sneaky, and lizards can pretty much do anything a snake can, escape-wise. Welve had snakes in car defrosters, turtles getting away (50 ft, then they hide). Some amazing stories that we can maybe all learn from. Some are not amusing- the lady that lost a Black Racer for instance. She found it hours later- when it crossed a 220 volt line in her stove! I understand the odor drove them out of the house for a while...
