Funnel traps for escapees (and Freedom Breeder warning)

Howdy;

I recently bought 2 Freedom Breeder "small reptile" racks for a project on growth rate and metabolism in children's and spotted pythons. I put 32 children's pythons in the racks last Thursday, and came back to the lab on Friday morning to find that 11 of them had escaped (and I've since lost two spotted pythons). Years ago, I remember ads in hobbyist magazines for small PVC funnel traps that could be placed along walls in snake rooms, but I can't seem to find them now. Anybody have a clue as to whether they're still made and where I can order some? Second, I'm obviously disappointed with the Freedom Breeder racks - after spending >$3,000 per rack, I expected them to be as escape-proof as possible. Instead, I found that the quality control was poor - there are gaps of up to 6 mm between the rack and the plastic drawers (enough for many species of snake to squeeze out of), and small snakes can go right through the steel mesh over the drawers. Just a warning if you plan on housing reptiles that are actually small in their "small reptile" racks.

Thanks in advance for any tips on the funnel traps. Cheers.
