Three weeks ago I got a call about some one finding a lizard on the side of a very busy highway. I told them to bring it in ASAP. When they arrived they opend a box in the back of thier pick up truck and took 3 steps back (aparently not a lizard person). When I looked in I saw a very sick bearded dragon. To the persons amazment I reached in and picked up the dragon. I did not know how long he had been out side and if he had not beenfound that morning (it reached over 90* that day with high humidity) he propably would not have lived through the day. The dragon was dehydrated, under weight and severly stressed. After calling all the vets and animal shelters in the area I had no luck fiding any lost reports. He is making improvements every day. Finding a lizard in western washington state is unusual and the few that are found are usualy iguanas. I am gratefull some one had a sharp eye and was concerned enough to locate the dragon the help he needed and I would like to thank them where ever they may be. And thank all those who rescue reptiles and take the time and resorces to care for sick, injured and abandond reptiles.
