did you try that snake catching technique with the soda bottle? your snake sounds too big for a normal one but if you cut the hole bigger i'm sure it would work. and just put a fuzzy in there or something.

take a 2 liter soda bottle, cut the top off at about the 3/4ths mark of the entire bottle length, and put it back on facing the other way. i've never owned a snake, never handled a snake more then twice, but i see that idea posted a lot. good luck!
