I lost my snake

While cleaning out his cage yesterday my black mamba escaped from the box I had him in. Any ideas of where to look? I just got this thing and I don't know much about them. I hear these snakes can be a little feisty? My wife runs a daycare out of our house and I would hate for one of the children to get hurt playing with it unsupervised. We normally like to keep a close eye the children when they are playing with the snakes.
