I saw a show on TV last night about the bite of a black mamba. It was interesting and explained the process of venomation in victims. What I did not quite understand was a statement in the show that said " after 12 hours the venom begins to flush from the system, and recovery begins". Something to this effect. I was under the impression that cetain neurotoxins do permenant damage to cells and tissues and that the damage can not be reversed. Can someone straighten me out on this? Thanks in advance.
