:read a paper describing an island tiger snake population that has individuals that have lost their sight in one or both eyes due to gull pecking, yet these "disabled" snakes still survive on gull chicks year after year !
just goes to show that for some snakes, the forked tongue is everything, but the eyes are expendable !
