Ha,Ha. I see your meaning. I am a Biology major leaning towards
Herpetology studies and almost everyone in my classes are pre-med.
These people blurt this stuff out like they were born with it in
mind.
To alan: Dr. Harold De Lisle Is right about not being able to
major in Herpetology. The best way I have seen to go into
Herpetology for a study is to major in biology, since this major
has the requirements for many classes that you should take to be
able to do Herpetology studies successfully, such as Cellular
Biology, Chemestry, and many other classes. After getting your BA.
or Masters in Biology then thats when the fun starts. This is the
time that you get to do the endless search for knowledge, going
college to college and seminar to seminar so that you can get into
your study. If your lucky a college near you may have some Herp.
classes but it is rare. If not then depending on your college you
may be able to do something called an independent research class.
This is a hard class to find but it allows you the independence to
study your intrests. At the begining of class the professor explains
what is expected from you and each person must tell the professor
what you are going to do your semester of study on. Classes like this
are usually only given to students after aproved by the professor of
the class and it has been determined if you have the self-dicipline
towards college to take the class. This is why it is so important
to study all you can now so you will be able to make a good start
when you get to college. If you do not make good grades in your
basics you will not have the option to take special classes such
as this. I hope I did not scare you from your dream but I thought
that it might help for you to know what to expect because this can
be a fustrating study.
Good luck with your Dream
and keep studing.
