What I actually have arranged is every 3 months I do a general reptile education program with heavy emphasis on Iguanas. Iguana care is probably the most common animal that they need proper care for. A few ways to get involved in things like this is first and foremost, be a regular customer at the first store you wish to do this with. Secondly, get involved with local herp societies. Those are the most important things. Herp societies are often contacted for info, thus being a reference is great. Start with offering care sheets. They are free to the store to hand out with pet purchase. Offer yourself to help people having problems with their pets. Invite the pet store owners/employees to places like kingsnake where they can see your knowledge level and end up educating themselves along the way. Lastly be prepared for rescue calls. GOOD LUCK!
