My question here is what types of lessons do you do with the various animals you keep in your classrooms? Maybe there is a way to team teach between the sciences and mathematics? Does anyone have suggestions on that??
Hi!
I've taught 1st grade for the past 3 years, and for 2 of those years, I've kept Bearded Dragons in the classroom. We did lots of activities with the lizards - some math related ideas: graphing and measuring growth (length and weight), estimating (how many crickets do you think he ate?), fractions (what fraction of his salad did he eat?). Good luck with your degree, and I hope these ideas are useful!
