I just obtained some tiny new lizards. It took a lot of networking, but I finally got them identified as Eremias arguta, native to the southern Russian provinces, such as Kazakstan. There are 5 subspecies, all with slightly different markings. I have just translated 2 pages of a German text someone kindly sent me, all about their biome, diet, and reproductive habits. I was thinking this would make a great lesson on adaptation to a harsh environment, geographical speciation, etc. Just thought I'd share my idea for a lesson theme on herps!
