For starters, you are using the term herpetologist in the loosest sense of the word. Many are qualified university graduates with masters degrees and doctorate degrees in herpetology. However, there are others who have no university degree in herpetology but would still be considered herpetologists. If you want to be a herpetologist in post secondary school you better get good marks in science and try to get into a zoology program in university. Hope this helps you.
