:i've been toying with the idea of getting a few green basilisks, and have been doing research on them.. i find that they seem to be pretty unpopular compared to say, waterdragons. i'm not sure why this is, as they are very similar, and basilisks are around $30-40..
:are they hard to keep or tempermental? is it because of their awkward cage requirements.. i would find this hard to believe as they usually share cages with waterdragons. monitors and other popular lizards usually require difficult habitats as well..
:an example of their unpopularity is shown on the kingsnake.com gallery, where there are only 8 basilisk pictures, and most are different angles of the same animal!
:thanks
Bassies are much more of a display animal, they are very skittish and dont tolerate handeling. They do need big enclosures like water dragons however they are not nearly as "tame" as them. Handeling them only creates stress and bad heath for the lizard. Kyle
