:There are a few who seem to thrive best when there is conflict
:going on. Those who do most of the complaining here I don't
:remember seeing at any of our meetings, why is that.
personally, i don't "thrive on conflict", and i hope you weren't characterizing me in that manner. nor do i feel that i'm complaining - simply i'm attempting to point out somethings regarding the relationship between herp shows and herp societies, as well as point out what the APPEARANCES are in this particular case.
: How can they possibly know what the society is all about
:unless they experience it for themselves, and I don't mean
:coming to just one meeting.
i've been to your meetings a few times, as a speaker. i've also known michael and steve for quite some time. i know what your society is about, and that's why i'm suggesting you guys be cautious regarding your association with herp shows. ther reason i don't go more often? i'm too busy going out in the field to go to a saturday meeting! you know, "doing" vs "talking" LOL. wednesday meetings work so much better for me, but then i would have to go to the NTHS meetings, which i'm really not all that interested in anymore.
You guys have a good group (mostly) and i'd hate to see yet another DFW area herp society fade away into oblivion because certain issues weren't addressed - which is why i've entered into this discussion in the first place.
