just got back (~12:00 AM) this morning from looking and photographing salamanders. Did extremely well, found 19 species of herps, 13 lifers for me, and only missed seeing one of our target species. The list of herps we observed looks like:
Plethodon kiamichi (4)
Plethodon ouchitae (1)
Plethodon caddoensis (TMTC)
Plethodon albagula (~10)
Plethodon serratus (3)
Plethodon dorsalis augusticlavius (~10)
Eurycea lucifuga (3)
Eurycea multiplicata multiplicata (1)
Eurycea multiplicata griesogaster (1)
Eurycea tynerensis (1)
Desmognathus brimleyorum (3)
Ambystoma maculatum (2)
Acris crepitans blanchardi (TMTC)
Rana palustris (~5)
Rana clamitans clamitans (~5)
Virginia valeriae (1)
Nerodia sipedon sipedon (1)
Elaphe gutatta emoryi (1 DOR)
Sceloporus undulatus undulatus (1 juvie)
Pretty cold trip, wet, rainy, never above 50 degrees, but can't complain for a list like that I guess.
Later, KW
