Veiled Chameleon

I am a new owner of a 6 week old female veiled chameleon. I have 4 books on the subject and low and behold they all say something different. Is it o.k. to handle her. One book said no the other said handle everyday to avoid aggressive behavior. She does not like to be sprayed and all of the books say to spray. Is there something else besides crickets to feed her at this age. I would think she would like a variety. I would appreciate any info.
