I live in Austin, west of 360 near the bridge, and I saw a snake in by yard and am concerned that it may be poisonous and I am worried because we have two labrador retrievers. The snake is about one foot long with a small head. It had a small orange band then a larger black band then a small orange band followed by a larger maroon band followed by a small orange band then the pattern repeats. I also have a ribbon snake living under the cooldek around the pool. I am not worried about the ribbon snake an just saw this other snake this weekend. If it is a poisonous snake how do I get rid of it? What will happen if it bites my dogs or me? We do not have kids.
If anyone can help please contact me.
