Visiting Austin

Greetings all ... Wes, late of the Ottawa Amphibian & Reptile Society (Canada) and now Secretary Nova Scotia Herpetological Society (still in Canada) will be visiting your nearby Ft Hood (I think that's near to you and Austin?) with the Canadian Army for the period Sunday 18 Oct to Wed AM. Is there anything nearby of interest to a herper without his own car? (The US Army hosts tell me that I'll have most of the evenings free).
And if you have a 'newt' person within the membership, I'd appreciate a contact if they're interested in speaking about things 'caudatal'. Cheers, and thank you for your time. Wes
