Kim,
The most commonly seen frogs around and within caverns along the Balcones Escarpment of the eastern Edwards Plateau is the Cliff Chirping Frog (Syrrhophus marnocki). These interesting little frogs are one of about five species of mostly tropical leptodactylid frogs to be found in Texas. An interesting aspect of their biology is that they are able to reproduce independently of standing water, the tadpole stage taking place within the egg.
