This is some tissue that the vet pulled out of the incision. At first we thought it might be a tumor of some kind, but once we got a bunch out, we realized that is was muscle tissue. The vet took a sample for a biopsy, sutured up Shakey and sent him home. A few days later we heard from the vet that the tissue was normal muscle. We think that there might have been a tear in the lining that encases the muscles, which created a hernia. Right now Shakey is doing well, enjoying his weekly mice and recovering nicely.
