: : Hey, is there anyone out there who knows of some good sites in North Carolina for finding copperheads and rattlesnakes? I live in the Triangle, and from time to time I drive out looking for various critters, but for these snakes in particular. To date, I have only come upon an intergrade copperhead, and that was in a parking lot of all places, and I wasn't even the one who initially found it.

:
: I'm in the Asheboro area. Been here about 2 months-I've cruised a few copperheads at night on country roads right by my house. They are common if the conditions are right. I've seen several more DOR's and I know where the horridus are just haven't had the time to really search for them. I don't hunt alot in the summer, but if you drop me a line I might be up for some nite cruising.

: RE: sandhills-been there once and saw a DOR pine snake that broke my heart-a BIG female and alot of DOR E.obsoleta and alot of lizards. Got some good tin spots down there for fall or spring.

: I would be interested in hearing from other 'hot herpers' in the area.

: Erik
