If a duvernoy's gland is just a modified saliva gland, do venomous species have venom for saliva or do they have a separate gland that secretes saliva? Doesnt really make sense to me, but it definately sounds possible that they use the venom not only as an offensive/defensive weapon but also saliva. Any thoughts?
