he should calm down in time. Although most are rather docile, I have seen molossus run the gambit from the most irratable crote I have seen to the most mellow. Back in the early '90's during desert storm my buddy wanted a molossus so we took a drive and as luck would have it one rattled at my truck as we passed. This is the closest I have ever come to being tagged. As i reached for it with my tongs he struck so vigorously he left the ground by at least a foot and just about got my hand.And I had always told people during lectures that rattlesnakes DO NOT jump! We ended up naming him "Scud" since he was olive green and flew through the air. To my knowledge he still does this. We guesstimate he could easily bite someone at hip or thigh level.
