besides the obvious obesity in adults it may not be discenable to us till the animal dies. I just make a point of growing my babies slow (although have you ever noticed that in the long run, say a five year period that the babies raised slow are just as large as the ones that have been power fed?) and I keep them much like I see them in the wild. Lean and muscular through the spring and summer with a gradual weight gain by fall, but I'm careful that they don't get any heavier than the wild snakes I am seeing at the same time.
