I live only a couple hours from there. From my experience all of the herps are down for the winter. You are not likely to find anything unless we get some summer weather for about a week or so. Wait till March or April. This is when I started finding stuff last year. I found my first Sidewinder (Crotalus cerastes) in February under a rock.
