I say that because the the basal tail segment looks more black than I have seen it in Mojaves (although I have not seen that many) and I definitely think it looks different that the San Diego Co. C. c. lateropens. It is hard to say though. What's the dorsal scale row count? That would narrow it down to two subspecies!
