I was riding my bike out by a nature preserve outside of Gainesville where I am in school and found a baby diamondback laying on the trail. It was the first diamonback I've ever seen outside of captivity. It had very vivid markings and was around a foot long - definitely born this summer. This trail gets lots of use from bikers, skaters and runners and I see snakes on the trail all the time. I saw a 2 1/2 foot cottonmouth on it last week when I was riding. Anyway, I was afraid somebody was going to run over it or kill it intentionally so I moved him off the paved trail into the woods. Hope it grows into a big bad-ass someday.
