mostly within one genus, two if ya count Sistrurus which is in some contention right now from what I understand. But how do you explain such hybrids as the crosses between Lampropeltis getula and Elaphe gutatta, or either of these two forms with Lampropeltis triangulum sinaloae? All of these matings have occured in captivity and produced viable offspring. I realize this is not a natural crossing as would occur in the wild but it points out the potential possiblities. We have an awful lot to learn about reptilian genetics and reproduction. Every year we see new things that were thought to be impossible by old school standards. Nowdays I keep an open mind and believe about anything is possible.
