the same thing that FR has pointed out. That all it may take to initiate breeding is for the snakes to cross paths. Offentimes two species may occupy the same niche but rarely come into contact because of different activity patterns or some minor variation within the niche. Mans interference may interfere or eliminate those barriers thowing the tow forms into contact that would not occur otherwise.
