Hello All,

I am in my first season of breeding corns and it has gone well so far, other than males not wanting to breed and a female that is now a male and he seems to be the only male that wants to breed, well anyways here is my question.

My female snow has gone into her pre-lay shed so I was getting lay boxes and incubator set up, I put in the sphagnum moss into the incubator boxes. I went to check everything the temps are all good but the moss has grown this white clearish stringy stuff (I think it might be mold), is this normal? Can I still put the eggs in it or should I put fresh moss in and start over?

I always thought that sphagnum moss had an acid that prevents mold and bacteria.

any advice you could lend would be great.

This is just another of many things that have just not gone my way, no wonder all of you say if it can go wrong it will.

thanks

-Ryan
