Heat source for Bookshelf project?

OK, I'm heading to medical school in the fall and I need to make my collection as efficient and space saving as possible.

My plans are to find the PERFECT bookcase (size/shape), find the perfect plastic tubs (like 100% clear), add some rear lighting and provide heat.

The only area in all of that I come up empty for ideas or where to start is HEAT for each level of the rack.

I saw a few posts ago someone used water pipe warmers. Can anyone provide links to other adjustable/nonadjustable good heat sources that could do multi-levels on one outlet?
