Just after the pre-lay shed you can lay a peice of silk on your hand and let the female crawl across your finger tips and feel the eggs developing. (Don't squeeze! that can't be good! I just hold her just outside her hide box and encourage her to crawl across my silk covered fingertips into her hide. Her wieght seems to enough to allow me to feel the "lumps" of the eggs) I counted 11 eggs in my Hypo and she laid 12 eggs for me on 5-13.(6 good, 6 slugs) My Amel had her pre-lay shed 10 days ago and I can count 16 distinct lumps in her, we'll see soon (I hope!) if I counted accuratly!
