:Has anybody used iodine instead of clorine for disinfecting water dishs and stuff? When I worked at a micro brewery we used iodine to clean our hoses and tanks. Its easier to rinse compared to clorine, and doesn't stink as bad. Where as I used heated Caustic soda at the big brewery since it works better at breaking down solids, but that stuff is nasty.
I think the down of iodine is that it might be residual moreso than bleach. Bleach, you dry it out and bye bye. Others use Nolvasan....which, in my old brain I think is more iodine based but dilute.
