::I read in the rat snake forum that corns are not legal in Georgia (glad I didn't move THERE!). Is the true? Do any other states have laws against corn snakes?
:
:I'm not sure about other states but it IS illegal to keep corn snakes in Georgia.
:What's odd is the fact that they are illegal because they are an indiginous species but you can keep and sell turtles in Georgia, including indiginous species such as maps, sliders, cooters, musks, muds and snappers.
:It doesn't matter if they are captive bred or not. A corn snake is a corn snake in the eyes of Georgia law.
:Now, I do not know the exact wording of the laws, this is just a quick answer to your question and not intended to be any kind of legal expertise.
This is the kind of thing that happens when we watch too much TV and not watch our elected officials enough!!!!!
