You're right, they would be normals, het for amel. However, the many generations of selective breeding involved in making the candy cane will have an influence on the babies. I held back 4 babies from my '01 clutch from this same pair and one is normal looking, the other 3 are Miami looking. They're not your typical normals or Miamis though, all 4 are some of the prettiest ones I've ever seen. The Candy Cane genes bring out super colors, high contrast, and super clean background colors.
