:The first number is the number of males, the second number is the number of females, and the third number (if mentioned) means the number of animals that are sex-unknown.

:So...

:1.3.2 means that there is 1 male, 3 females, and 2 unknown sex animals.

:or

:2.4 means that there are 2 males and 4 females.

:Get it?
