Collard acclimation

Experienced herper here, just not with collards.
I just caught a smallish collard (I believe it's a male) outside of Jester cave. I was wondering if anyone had some tips on acclimating him and what kind of food he should take. I've got him on crickets, but I don't know if he likes them.
