In Reply to: To reduce the risk of mold... posted by johne on April 20, 2003 at 14:56:42:
I found out early on that not all the foosty eggs are the duds as when i started out breeding all of my first batch went moldy and i through them out but the last one to go i decided to open it and found to my dismay that they were viable:(Anyway it's a new year and i'm looking forward to hatching these little critters as i've never taken a clutch full term,oh and my young female is piling the weight on so i think maybe the male has caught her,she is also starting to feel lumpy:)
see yah and thanks again!

:Mix in some sphagnum moss, it will be a bit more acidic, and reduce the mold contamination. It is possible they are still good...might as well wait it out and see. I use Perlite, and have never really gotten any mold.
