In Reply to: End of first hibernation (whew!) Pics... posted by Lyn on April 03, 2003 at 21:57:18:
Glad to hear you had a successful brumation. Freckles looks like C. bicinctores(Desert or Mojave collared) and the other two are C. collaris(common or eastern collared) Keep the pictures coming!!!
:Hi everyone. I haven't posted since fall because my Collareds were sleeping and there wasn't anything for me to post about. This was my first time hibernating lizards, and I was very nervous when I started to warm them back up, wasn't sure what to expect. Thankfully all 3 made it through the winter just fine. No noticable weight loss, and all are active and eating. They've been awake since early March, just took me a bit to get some new pics.
:Freckles was the first to wake up...

:Closer shot of Freckles. I'm not sure what type of Collared she is and welcome any suggestions...

:Daisy woke up a few days later...

:Closeup of Daisy. I believe she is an Eastern...

:And Percy finally decided to join the party about a week later. He is normally a very nice mint green color, I'll try to get some better pics after he sheds.

:All 3 together...

:I'm so thankful that they survived their hibernation and are doing fine. I won't worry so much about them next year :-)
