with one notable exception being C. collaris (common collared lizard). Since the C. collaris species is far and away the most frequently encountered collared in the pet trade, many folks researching these lizards further are surprised to discover the amazing diversity in color, body type, and habits exhibited in the Crotaphytus genus as a whole.
