Now my last (and only…) female has laid her eggs. Sunday evening she dug her selves down and Tuesday morning she looked very thin. She laid 7 eggs (2 of them stick together) and they are now in the incubator.

There were almost no indications of she was ready to lay the eggs. She has not eaten much the last week. But she has not started digging at all, so I was a little surprised (AND GLAD) that she laid the eggs without any problems.

She is now separated form the male for a couple of weeks so she can gain some weight again and she has already started eating again.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for helping me making the conditions right for her. She laid the eggs under a rock in a box with around 2 inches of damp sand.

I have a question for the breeders – do you incubate your eggs with or without a lid over the egg box?

Jesper
