because I was referring to SSAR Herp Cir #29 which only says that Montanucci et al. have submitted a request to treat obesus as the true name and banish ater to the scrapheap. Crother and his group tend to follow Hollingsworth strictly on the basis of precedence. I thought the ICZN would have decided by now since they were due to do so last year but I have not heard from them even though they promised to inform me when action was taken on the proposal. I guess I'll have to e-mail them again. I'll let you know what I discover.
