I would be interested in reading about this also. My husband had to stuff 300 woodpeckers to help determine if the red shafted and yellow shafted were different color variations of the same sub. or a different sub. To this day he can't see a woodpecker without going into a long string of *&%!!, etc...
I had asked Tom about this a while back and he's warned me it can be a bit dry, but I would appreciate finding a copy to read.
