The Arizona Sonora Desert Museum has placed Baja Blue Rock Lizards, Petrosaurus thalassinus, in their lizard pit just outside the entrance. I had the opportunity to see one lizard early in the AM and the same lizard later on in the afternoon. That was the second day I was there and the only things I saw the previous day were 2 Sceloporus clarkii and two really ugly S. ater. The Petrosaurus was small but quite healthy and I wonder how many are actually in the pit. Sorry, did not bring my camera.
Just a slightly off-topic note; During the middle of the day, there were no tortoises out in their enclosure and only a few small zebra-tails in the sand dune enclosure, no Uma or Horned Lizards.
