I have collected my own in various Ca. locals but these, unfortunately, were purchased. We had just returned some to their original rock pile because of their temperment and my son was really upset. I understood at first that these were from San Diego but when pressed, (probably for legal reasons) he said they were from Mexico NEAR San Diego. I wish I knew where they are actually from. I seem to recall a picture of an almost all white chuck with black speckles from the Palm Springs area. Do you guys know the one? I've never looked in the actual Palm Springs area just to the east a few miles. It might make an interesting field trip for my two little homeschoolers. : )

Hi Rick There are a couple of localities of white and a little variation of white in southern Nv along the Colorado RIver. THere is also a white chuck in San Diego county in CA. You should post pics and we would be able to give you a better idea of locality. Tom
