Sorry for the elayed response Greg. It is much the same way as the beardeds. With my chucks they will go off feed a week or 2 before laying and will be very active, basking then digging in al;l areas of the cage trying to find a suitable nest spot. Mine even try digging up the corrugated cardboard I use as a substrate. I usually gage by there size and put the nest box in 3-4 weeks before laying and place them in it a couple times so they know where to go. I use a sweater box with a peice of plywood on top about 2 inches shorter than the box for access.
