I have used all different sizes and by size, I figure you mean length. Most of the crappie rods for sale now are made of graphite and I don't want to see the chuck that could break one of those. I have noosed chucks with the 10' Zebco and the 17.5 ft Ambassador. Or, you could try an ol' cane pole. LOL
