:Well, I haven't seen Zoe's often enough (only twice actually) to be able to give a detailed description...but...I just saw Zoe evert his the other day, in the exact same situation as yours.
:I had never seen Zoe have a bowel movement, but then Sunday, I finally did, and he too passed fluid, and while he was doing this, I also saw his hemipenes...it was rather bright red...not quite blood red...but red. And sort of circular, or oval, with a a fairly flat top. When he stopped straining to poop...they went back inside.
:A worm would be thin and squiggly...and more likely white, than red...and would probably come right out, rather than come out, and then go back in.
:But...that said...it still wouldn't hurt to have a fecal done on him.

::Describe the hemipenes and i will tell you. if thats what it was. Is it normal for them to poke that out from time to time. Maybe he is going through cham puberty or something. Help me out on this.

It sounds like it probably was his hemipenes. They were about a centimeter long and about 1/16 of an inch across with the flat top red but not blood red like you said. I have only had him a week and a half but i did lots of research on them and i am just wanting to give him the absolute best care. I am being so anal about everything because i haven't had him long. Thanks for your help. I probably will get the test done anyway though. So i can feel out my local vet to see how much they know incase of an emergency. Thanks.
